Our Sensory Seeker Fragrance is inspired by, among other things, the bespoke cocktail boom we enjoyed in NYC in the early 2000’s (Death & Co., PDT, Angel’s Share, etc). This time of year makes us particularly nostalgic for cozying up in one of our favorite cocktail haunts to enjoy one of their brilliant boozy concoctions.
These quiet, dark, little bars and lounges were our first exposure to adventureous and aromatic spirits like Fernet, which is made from a number of herbs and spices including myrrh, rhubarb, chamomile, cardamom, aloe, and saffron. This scent profile is the inspiration for the herbal and spicy notes in our Sensory Seeker fragrance.
So, bringing things full circle, we’ve devised a new drink recipe based on Sensory Seeker. If you like herbal flavors, it’s a daring and exciting alternative to a Manhattan or an Old Fashion. And like the fragrance, there’s no actual cannabis in this drink, but if you’re like us, and enjoy the smell of marijuana more than the effects, this drink will also satisfy you in that regard.

3 oz. Burbon
1/2 oz. Sweet Vermouth
1/2 oz. Fernet
Whole dried Cloves
Mix the first three ingredients in a cocktail shaker, mix and pour into a chilled glass. Garnish with 3 – 4 dried cloves. The cloves can also be steeped in the bourbon for a more intense clove flavor, or use a dash of powdered clove.
