The multi-hyphenate performance duo, The Dragon Sisters (Issa & OD), are our latest obsession, and the stars of our new Real Sheepies campaign.
We’ve been streaming their music in the studio non-stop, following the fantasy on IG, and absolutely living for their live shows, which are part performance art, part rap show, part dance party, all energy and all love.
After experiencing their performance of “The Quick Flight Tour” this summer at Jack Brooklyn, and being totally blown away, we knew we had to invite them to the studio to whip some hair, strike all the poses, feel their BURKELMAN fantasy, and create these iconic images.

What do you want your audience to experience when you perform?
We want our audience to leave with a little part of us, knowing that they too can be just as bold and confident as we are. We want them to leave with a clear understanding of who we are as performing artists, while still being confused as fuck.
How do you describe the Dragon Sisters aesthetic? What do you want people to take away from that expression?
Our aesthetic is forever changing and evolving. We are constantly being inspired by the things around us and forever pulling inspiration from the world we live in. We are muses of the world therefore our aesthetic is a reflection of our experiences.
How do you want to impact queer culture, and culture in general? Is there something you’re trying to transform?
What we want to bring to queer culture is that community is everything. We are more powerful together than when we are divided.
What are you most excited about right now?
We are most excited about the future! We’ve been putting in a lot of hard work to ensure big, bold and bright futures.

What’s something new you just started doing?
We recently started working with a larger team. Since the beginning, it’s just been the two of us running the business, designing, creating and building our brand. We are now working with a dear friend of ours who is a marketing genius, Makeda Smith as well as our manager, Kenneth Alexander.
What are you addicted to / obsessed with right now?
We are currently obsessed with making music and performing for our community. We can’t get enough. It’s our only addiction.
What’s the one luxury you can’t live without (you wouldn’t feel like you without it)?
The one piece of luxury that we can’t live without is our all-time favorite makeup brand Danessa Myricks.
What’s the best thing you ever quit?
The best thing we ever quit was our day jobs.

New York is the center of the world, especially the art world. We absolutely love the accessibility and opportunity at our fingertips.
